Crafted of a durable food-safe metal alloy, Reed & Barton serveware will not tarnish, chip, crack or dent with normal use. Like most metal surfaces, your Reed & Barton serveware may become scratched due to cutting, stacking and every day use. This is normal and will result in a natural patina that will not affect the usefulness of the piece. Your Reed & Barton metal serveware is perfect for today's formal and casual entertaining. To ensure long lasting good looks and optimum performance, please follow these simple care and use guidelines. Before first use, hand wash in warm water with a mild soap and hard dry with a soft cloth. To protect the surface from discoloration, you may wish to lightly coat the surface of the piece with cooking spray or oil before adding food. The thermal properties of your metal serveware retain both heat and cold, helping to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. The metal serveware is not cookware. It is acceptable to warm food in your serveware. NEVER put in the microwave. Hand washing in warm water with a mild soap followed by hand drying with a soft cloth is recommended. Do not clean or scrub with abrasive or harsh cleaners. Do not place in the dishwasher. Promptly remove acidic foods such as vinegar, salad dressing or fruit. To minimize scratching, do not cut on serveware with sharp knives.
